Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the GenieListen mobile application ("App") operated by Genie InfoTech ("we", "us", or "our").

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Description of Service

GenieListen is a text-to-speech reading application that converts text into audio using AI-powered cloud voices and device offline voices. The App allows you to import text content, articles from URLs, and listen to them with adjustable speed and voice options.

2. Free Tier

• The App is free to download and use.
• Free users receive 10,000 characters per day of cloud AI voice usage.
• Offline (system) voices are unlimited and do not count toward the daily limit.
• The daily character limit resets at midnight based on your device's local time.
• We reserve the right to adjust free tier limits with reasonable notice.

3. User Content

• You are solely responsible for the content you import into the App (text, URLs, documents).
• You must have the right to access and use any content you import.
• We do not monitor, review, or filter the content you import.
• Content imported via URL is fetched directly from the source website. We are not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or appropriateness of third-party content.
• You agree not to use the App to process content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes on the rights of others.

4. Intellectual Property

• The App, its design, code, and branding are the property of Genie InfoTech.
• Audio generated by the cloud TTS service is produced by Google Cloud Text-to-Speech and is subject to Google's terms of service.
• You retain ownership of any text content you import into the App.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
• Use the App to generate audio for commercial redistribution without proper content rights.
• Attempt to bypass the daily character limit or abuse the cloud TTS service.
• Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the App or its backend services.
• Use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or impair our services.

6. Service Availability

• Cloud AI voices require an internet connection and depend on the availability of our server and Google Cloud services.
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
• Offline voices are available without internet and are provided by your device's operating system.
• We may update, modify, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The App will meet your specific requirements.
• Cloud TTS audio quality will be identical across all text content.
• URL article extraction will work perfectly for all websites.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Genie InfoTech shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption arising out of your use of or inability to use the App.

9. Future Premium Features

We plan to offer premium subscription plans in the future. When available, subscription terms, pricing, and billing will be governed by the Google Play Store's subscription policies. These Terms will be updated accordingly before any paid features are launched.

10. Termination

You may stop using the App and uninstall it at any time. We reserve the right to restrict access to our cloud services if we detect abuse or violation of these Terms.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Bangladesh. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through good faith negotiation, and if necessary, the courts of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
